Resilient Pathways was founded by Piotr Mierzejewski, a Registered Social Worker with a Master of Social and Community Work and extensive experience across disability services, mental health, trauma-informed practice, community development, tertiary education, and ACC Sensitive Claims services.

Piotr brings both professional expertise and lived experience to his work. Having lived with a physical disability since birth and using a motorised wheelchair, he has a firsthand understanding of the importance of accessibility, inclusion, resilience, and self-determination. This lived experience complements his professional practice and informs his commitment to supporting individuals, whānau, communities, and fellow practitioners.

Throughout his career, Piotr has worked alongside people navigating trauma, disability, mental health challenges, complex systems, and significant life transitions. He is also a tertiary educator, social work assessor, facilitator, and advocate who is passionate about helping people recognise their strengths, build confidence, and create meaningful pathways forward.

Piotr believes that effective supervision is built on reflective practice, authentic relationships, and a strengths-based understanding of people and their potential. At Resilient Pathways, supervision is viewed as a collaborative journey where the supervisee remains in the driver's seat, setting the direction and identifying the destinations that matter most to them. The supervisor acts as a navigator, helping explore possibilities, navigate challenges, and occasionally offering the perspective of a backseat driver when accountability or constructive challenge is needed.

Grounded in the values of respect, inclusion, partnership, social justice, and lifelong learning, Resilient Pathways provides clinical supervision, consultancy, mentoring, professional development, and reflective practice support for those working alongside people experiencing disability, trauma, mental health challenges, and long-term health conditions.

Resilient Pathways exists to support people and practitioners to move forward with purpose, connection, resilience, and hope.
